There were 207 entries on Day 1C of the DSPT Battle of Alberta Edmonton Main Event at Casino Yellowhead on Saturday, and that made for a total field size of 412 players in this CAD $1,100 buy-in CAD $250,000 guaranteed tournament. The total prize pool was set at CAD $391,400. The champion will take home CAD $79,300 + USD $3,000 DSPT Championship package, and the top 52 players will min-cash for at least CAD $1,720. Day 2 begins on Sunday at Noon. There will be 84 players returning at that time, and they will play all the way down to the final table of nine tomorrow. Edmonton Spotlight: Downtown

The DSPT live reporting team took a trip to Downtown Edmonton to get a quick look at the sights of the city. Downtown sits on the banks of the Saskatchewan River. The skyline provided a contrast to the early fall colors starting to spring up around the city. The sights included the Art Gallery of Alberta and City Hall in Churchill Square, and as is tradition in Canada there was a grand old hotel (Fairmont Macdonald Hotel) that was built by Canadian Railways during the golden age of train travel. Just south of downtown River Valley provided an excellent panorama of the river and the Muttart Conservatory. Check out the sights of downtown for yourself in the photos below.
